My favorite natural products
/Toxins come in all shapes and sizes.
And unfortunately a lot of them are sitting right in our bathroom cabinets. They’re the products we use every single day.
Health isn’t just about what you put IN your body, it’s what you put on it too.
Our skin is our largest organ and everything gets absorbed (and quickly—within 26 seconds unwanted ingredients can hit our bloodstream).
The synthetic ingredients found in the majority of our favorite products can disrupt your endocrine system (your hormones), cause skin issues, affect your reproductive system and fertility, and cause systemic inflammation—which is the root of most health problems.
As you start to transform your health with nutrition, lifestyle, mindset & movement I urge you to start considering upgrading your toiletries as well. You want to look out for products that contain less toxins and chemicals and more natural ingredients.
It’s an important step! {The average woman puts over 500 chemicals on her body before she leaves the house!}
A product makeover isn’t as intimidating as you may think. There are a lot of amazing products out there and many companies are catching word that we want cleaner products. They’re continuing to come up with new things so keep experimenting if you haven’t founds ones you adore quite yet.
I am going to be sharing some of my favorites below too- to help get you started :)
Some of my more natural products are my favorite products and I think you’ll love them as well.
Before you throw everything out—what I want you to keep in mind is that you can start slow here. I don’t want you to be overwhelmed.
Start with a few products and over time continue to replace things as you find products you like. I recommend starting with things you use everyday like deodorant, body lotion, and toothpaste.
Let it be a gradual progression. Also, don’t feel like you need everything and anything to be perfectly natural. I still wear regular makeup and go back and forth between cleaner and not-so-clean shampoos + conditioners. But most of the things I use every day are clean, and it's about what you do most of the time not perfection.
Just like I teach with food, read the labels on your beauty and cleaning products too. If you see a laundry list of ingredients or cannot understand the mile-long words, most likely it’s a product that isn’t going to benefit you and could be damaging to your health.
Knowledge is power!
Do your best to avoid purchasing products with these ingredients:
1. Dioxin
2. Triclosan
3. Phthalates
4. Benzoyl Peroxide
5. PEG (Polyethylene)
6. DEA, MEA, and TEA
7. FD&C Color and Pigments
8. Parabens (Meth, Butyl, Ethyl, Propyl)
9. Propylene Glycol (PG) and Butylene Glycol
10. DMDM Hydantoin and Urea (Imidazolidinyl)
11. Sodium Laurel Sulfate
12. Sunscreen Chemicals: avobenzone, benzphenone, ethoxycinnamate, PABA
The most important and most common ingredients to watch out for are:
- parabens (most know to disrupt the endocrine system (your hormones))
- DEA (a known carcinogen)
- Sodium Laurel Sulfate (also seen as SLS, a known skin irritant)
- Propylene Glycol (linked to cancer and fertility issues. It’s the stuff in anti-freeze)
Now that you know what you DON'T want...here are some of my favorite clean products!!:Primally Pure Deodorant:
Deodorant is a big one due for an upgrade because generic brands contain aluminum.
Aluminum is toxic to the body and specifically linked to cancer. Many deodorants also contain synthetic fragrances which can cause health issues as well.
Unfortunately I had a really hard time finding a natural deodorant I liked. Some actually made me smell worse! So believe me when I say I have found THE BEST.
It smells amazing and is very effective.
Primally Pure Deodorant is truly amazing. It’s made of Organic Arrowroot Powder, Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, Organic Tallow from Grass-Fed Cows, Baking Soda, and Organic Beeswax.
It’s ingredients are so natural, you can eat them. Sometimes I want to! From a fresh bottle of course ;)
Order yours here! (I have no affiliation I just genuinely love this product :))
JASON toothpaste:
I love love love this toothpaste.
The biggest red flag with conventional toothpaste is that they contain fluoride.
Fluoride supposedly builds strong and healthy teeth. In reality, sodium fluoride {a by-product of aluminum manufacturing} is also found in rat poisons and industrial pesticides. Gross. It’s said fluoride can damage fertility, bone health, skin, and cause headaches and gastric distress.
Many toothpastes also contain SLS and DEA which dangers were mentioned above.
The great news is this was a very linear switch for me to make! My teeth feel super clean and are in good health. If I’m traveling and have forgotten this toothpaste, I’m quite turned off if I have to borrow a brand filled with all the synthetic stuff. You'll start to notice this too.

doTERRA Verage skin care (cleanser + moisturizer):
These products are a spa in a bottle.
I love doTERRA essential oils, and they’ve really got things right with their new line of skin care too. Verage is amazing. These are man approved too by the way-- my boyfriend uses them :)
I really feel a deep clean and super refreshed from the cleanser—infused with CPTG® essential oils of Wild Orange, Melaleuca, and Basil it gently cleanses and lift away impurities.
The moisturizer made with CPTG® essential oils of Juniper Berry, Jasmine, Sea Buckthorn Berry, and Geranium uses natural ingredients to hydrate the skin and helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
The Verage collection also comes with a toner and serum which I love. But you can buy all of these separately.

Meyer’s Handsoap:
My favorite and a must have in my house. I’m sure you’ve seen these at the grocery store!
They have amazing scents. I’m very turned off by synthetic fragrances so these really make me happy. I’m excited to wash my hands every time. (I know I’m weird by the way!)
